The FS 214 railcars are standard gauge shunting locomotives which began to serve in the Italian State Railways starting from 1964 with the first series, 214,7000, built in 20 examples between 1964 and 1965[1]. They were built in large numbers in successive times and orders, spreading in various different series (among which the most numerous is the "4000") in railway plants throughout the Italian network. The second series, the 1000, was built in 156 examples between 1970 and 1979[
